Creating a 'dreamteam' powered by Bafang... read their story below

The international mountainbike team of Dutchman Bart Brentjens, the first Olympic Mountainbike Champion in sports history (Atlanta 1996), was founded at the end of Olympic year 2008. What started for Bart as a dream, after his fourth and last Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, the Team has grown into a professional mountainbike team. Going into the 14th race season this year, with good support of loyal sponsors and suppliers and with dedicated riders and staff, the team already ensured many international successes at the highest level.

Olympic Mission
Bart’s Team started in 2009 with Mission part 1, working in 4 years towards the Olympic Games in London 2012 to have 2 riders of the Team at the start. This mission was successful. Mission part 2 Rio2016 and Mission Part 3 Tokyo2020 were also successful for the Team.
Currently the Team is working hard on Mission Part 4 #AllezParis2024. With Mission Part 4 we work in 3 years towards The Olympic Games in Paris 2024. A shorter time period as the usual 4 years, due to the postponement of the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games. With Mission part 4 we work towards having as many riders of the Team as possible at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 with consistent Top 10 results in the UCI World Cups along the way and our main goal to win a medal in Paris 2024.
On E-Bike level, we strive with the Team for the best possible performance, especially in the UCI E-Mountainbike Worldcup Series and Championships. Together with Dutch rider Kjell van den Boogert and former rider Jeroen van Eck we have celebrated some great achievements on the e-mountainbike the last 3 years.
Bafang has been working with Bart and his Team since 2019 and they developed together the American E-Agle. This e-mountainbike has been specially designed to integrate Bafang’s innovative M500 Mid-drive system and battery in the down tube. This season our E-mountainbiker Kjell van den Boogert will ride with the new M510, a more powerful and quiet motor.
It is very inspiring and motivating to work close together with the purpose to reach the best possible achievements in our sport!

Our Ride to Paris
In addition to these performance ambitions, the Team has other objectives. Together with our main sponsors CST, PostNL and Bafang - and also our sponsor Abus- we create a joint ride to Paris 2024 in which safety, health, sustainability and nature play a leading role. We have made this joint ride also visible in our new Team logo and outfit.
In the logo and on the outfit the Olympic flame stands for our Ride to Paris 2024 and the passion we have and share for our sport Mountainbike. The golden circle is a symbol for the group of people that is united together on this Ride to Paris 2024. It also symbolizes our ultimate sportive goal of winning a medal at Paris 2024. The green background color stands for nature, the green character of our sport and the bicycle, and for sustainability. The green color also takes us back to the Olympic Games in Atlanta, USA in 1996, where mountainbiking made its debut at the Olympic Games.

Start of the 2022 season!
The 2022 season started already with a Trainingcamp in Noli, Italy. Another test trainingcamp in France with SR Suntour and already some races in Italy and also the Cape Epic in South Africa where the first victories are a fact. Because of the situation in the Ukraine and our Ukraine team members Yana, Sasha and Maksym this 2022 season started in an other perspective. We hope and pray that the war will end soon.
