BAFANG at E-bike Experience

We’ve packed down the booth, loaded up the bikes, and have embarked on our journey home from E-bike Xperience, part of Bike Motion Benelux, where we kicked of the season in style! The annual event sees some of the best bicycle brands from around the world gathered under one roof for what is an exciting three-day event. From global bicycle brands to components manufacturers, to accessories brands to e-bike systems manufactures – like us!

This year’s show was held at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht and E-bike Xperience was home to over 70 e-bike brands where visitors could browse some of the latest and greatest in e-bike technology as well as get up close and personal with the hundreds of e-bike models that were on show.

E-bike Xperience boasts one of Europe’s largest indoor test tracks so we bought along some ready-to-ride versions of our top-of-the-range systems for visitors at the show to tryout on the impressive track.

First up was the BAFANG M800 mini mid motor – ideal for e-road, e-gravel and e-cyclocross bikes. The new super-compact center drive unit weighs in at a tiny 2.3kg and offers both single and double chainring compatibility. The clever little motor delivers perfect support for cyclists who need a little boost!Joining the show was the BAFANG M500 – the super powerful mid motor designed especially for e-MTBs. With a maximum torque output of 95Nm the new M500 mid drive system is designed for sporty, vigorous riding on any terrain. Great for hardtail or full suspension MTB designs due to its light weight at less than 3.3kg.

During the show we also got to catch up with the team at American Eagle, who we have partnered with to develop an E-MTB ready to race in the new ‘E-Mountain Bike’ class of the World Championships which was recently announced by cycle sport’s world governing body, the UCI. The Championships will take place in late August 2019 in Mont St. Anne, Canada so watch this space!

It was a very busy few days, but we had a lot of fun showcasing our latest technology and innovations! It was great to catch up with partners old and new as well as meet with visitors over the three days. Roll on next year!
