BAFANG on Tour

BAFANG on Tour

BAFANG’s 2019 tour continues and this month we stopped off in two of the most exciting cities in Europe – Warsaw and Berlin!

First up to kick off this month’s shows was Warsaw Bike Expo in the Polish capital. Held annually, the show takes place at the PGE National Stadium and sees manufacturers, brands and even athletes come together under one (retractable) roof to showcase hundreds of innovations.

The Bike Expo program offered something for everyone including bike jump shows, lectures, a bike expo and athlete meet and greets. There was a lot of fun to be had on the test track at the show too which was on the grounds of the stadium – it’s not every day you get to ride around a national stadium!

During the show we got to catch up with Kacper Sosnowski of KROSS bikes who were there presenting the brand-new range of KROSS e-bikes powered by BAFANG, as well as a new brand ‘Le Grand’. ‘We’re pleased to present a new KROSS e-bike collection featuring BAFANG drive which we have been working on for two years’, Kacper explained during the expo. An offshoot of KROSS bikes, Le Grandoffers up a range of city bikes for urban commuters wanting a stylish and comfortable ride and includes a variety of electric bikes powered by BAFANG.

Next up was VeloBerlin, dubbed the ‘festival for everyone who loves bikes’, it’s held at the Flughafen Tempelhof, a disused airport in the German capital. This year’s show saw a huge 300 exhibitors, 500 brands and 20,000 visitors descending on the show which continues to be one of Europe’s leading bicycle shows.

There was a wide variety of e-bikes on show at this year’s VeloBerlin, from e-MTBs to low step-through city bikes to fire engine bikes to e-cargo bikes, the selection on offer was diverse and suited to every riders’ individual needs.

Over the weekend we caught up with the Founder and CEO of Ettention Bikes, Simon Peter and Head of Production and Testing at Ettention Bikes, Markus Frick who introduced us to their company and their new e-bikes powered by the BAFANG M500 and M600 systems. On why they chose BAFANG Markus explained, ‘We decided on the BAFANG engine because it has a very small size, great power and a very good Q-factor. In addition, with the M600, we have torque of 120Nm, which is exceptional in the market.’

Of course, we had our trusty test-track in tow for this year’s VeloBerlin and it was great to see hundreds of riders out taking some of the many bikes on show for a test ride across the weekend.

The BAFANG tour continues next month with shows in China, Japan and Germany and we’re excited to spend some more time out at some of the best bike shows the world has to offer.
